For beginners that is. I have been googling for information and found hips of places, but got a bit lost when it comes to the variety in prices and the teaching techniques.
Mind I’m 29, and even though I love modern dancing I never had the chance to do it before. Plus I am into what Isadora Duncan used to do, and I’m afraid that some of these places might present me with these genres which I might not particularly be much of a fan of, like modern African dance for instance. See even though I’m mixed and have an African background myself, that isn’t exactly my kinda thing. I’m in it because of Isadora Duncan, I love her routines, and what she used to do is my kind of thing.
Does anyone know what kind of place would suit me better in London??
Thanks a million!!!!
You could try getting in touch with the Isadora Duncan Dance Group.

By contemporary/modern you could mean more ballet rooted dance

or contemporary/modern as in what everybody does these days
The first step is to get signed up for something and start moving. Don’t wait to find the perfect class.
An adult beginners class in contemporary dance would be my suggestion. You’d be stretching, moving and learning to control your body, developing stamina and responding to music – all of which would benefit any dance form you later chose to follow. You’d also have a chance to talk to the teachers and other students to find out what they would recommend.
Add Isadora Duncan onto a firm basis in contemporary dance and it could be really exciting. Do it by learning from someone who is basically not a good dancer or teacher and just has their heart in the right place and it’ll never amount to much.
I’d sign up for something like the contemporary dance (and later, the creative performance) classes offered here

Good luck. I’m sure you will find something.
